The 27th European Brain Barriers Meeting 2025
In 1998 Ingolf E. Blasig, Adrian J. Carter and Reiner F. Haseloff from the Institute of Molecular Pharmacolgy in Berlin, Germany initiated a symposium dedicated to Signal Transduction Pathways in the Blood-Brain Barrier. Starting out as a Satellite Symposium of the Forum Meeting of the European Neuroscience Association this meeting entitled „Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers”. Since then, it became an independent and annual meeting usually held in September and has been hosted in different European cities.
In the meanwhile, the annual meeting embraces topics beyond signal transduction pathways at the brain barriers and includes discussion of developmental, cellular, structural and morphological aspects of the brain barriers, the role of the brain barriers in cerebrospinal fluid flow, as well as translational aspects including therapeutic targeting of the brain barriers.
To make the contents of the meeting more visible and transparent to broader research community, from 2025 on the annual meeting will be continued under a novel name and will be held as the 27th European Brain Barriers Meeting in Bern Switzerland, scheduled from September 8th to 10th, 2025.
